Get ready for an epic summer with Chelsea Groton Bank! Kids are invited to dive into our STEAM classes, where learning meets excitement, and join our remote kids’ book club for some literary adventures! Plus, celebrate our 171st birthday by helping us give back to the community with a special donation. And don’t forget to cheer us on at parades or visit us at concerts and festivals this summer!

STEAM Summer Classes & Book Club for Kids – Chelsea Groton Bank invites your family to join ours for a fun-filled STEAM summer! Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we’ll lead projects and activities (geared for students ages 7-15) related to science, technology, engineering, art and math, via Teams or in-person at our Westside Branch.
The five disciplines in STEAM learning promote problem solving as well as creative and analytical thinking. Those who register to attend in person will receive all supplies upon arrival at class.
There will also be a remote (Teams only) Kids Book Club offered on Thursdays from 10AM – 11AM.
Chelsea Groton Bank’s Birthday – Giving back to the community is our favorite way to celebrate! From June 23rd through July 2nd, name your favorite local non-profit in the comment section on our Facebook birthday post. The organization named the most times will receive a special birthday donation from Chelsea Groton. The winner will be announced on the Bank’s Birthday, July 3rd.
Groton’s 4th of July Parade – Get ready, Groton! The Chelsea Groton team, along with Chelsea A. Corn, will be marching in the Town of Groton’s 4th of July Parade at 10AM on Friday, July 4th. The parade starts at Poquonnock Plains and wraps up in front of Chelsea Groton’s headquarters building. Be sure to wave and show CGB some love! We hope to see you all there.
Summer Soundwaves – Get ready to groove this season with the Town of Groton’s favorite beach concert series, Summer Soundwaves. This year, concertgoers will enjoy 8 weeks of quality music at Esker Point Beach every Thursday from June 26th through August 14th at 6PM. Chelsea Groton team members will be rocking out to Red Lion on July 31st!
Rock the Docks – The 2025 Rock the Docks Summer Concert Series will feature an exciting lineup of bands performing at Howard Brown Park in Norwich every Wednesday from 6PM to 8PM, starting on July 9th and concluding on August 13th. Chelsea Groton is proud to sponsor the July 30th concert with F & Blues Band. Be sure to stop by and say hi!
Waterford Day Parade – Celebrate the Town of Waterford with the annual Waterford Day Parade on August 9th! The Chelsea Groton team and Chelsea A. Corn will be joining in the parade for a day of fun and excitement. The parade kicks off at 11AM at Waterford High School. See you on the parade route!
Mystic Outdoor Art Festival – The two-day Mystic Outdoor Art Festival on August 9th and 10th is the oldest, juried art show in the Northeast region and serves an audience of art enthusiasts, as well as weekend visitors from the local surrounding communities, New England, the Tri-State area, and beyond. The festival showcases close to 270 artists from around the country with over a mile of fine arts and crafts including oils, watercolors, photography, textiles, sculpture, woodwork, acrylics and more. Chelsea Groton team members will be on hand to help you find the Children’s Art Park, the Performing Arts Stage, or the artist whose work you can’t help but buy!
