63rd Annual Freedom Fund Dinner Hosted by the NAACP Norwich Branch

The Norwich Branch NAACP invites the community to its 63rd Annual Freedom Fund Dinner on Thursday, October 29, 2026, in the Premier Ballroom at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket. Guests are invited to gather for a social hour beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the evening program at 7:00 p.m.

This year’s theme, “Untold Stories: America’s 250th – Norwich, Connecticut,” commemorates America’s 250th anniversary by recognizing the people, experiences, and contributions that have too often been left out of our nation’s history. The evening will explore how Black history and American history are deeply connected, emphasizing that our understanding of the American story is incomplete when voices remain unheard.

About the NAACP
The organization’s vision is to foster an inclusive community rooted in liberation, where all individuals can exercise their civil and human rights without discrimination. Its mission is to advance equity, political rights, and social inclusion by promoting policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and strengthen the well-being, education, and economic security of Black people and all people of color.

Bringing the NAACP to Norwich
Established in 1963, the Norwich Branch NAACP was founded to continue the work of the national organization in Connecticut. More than six decades later, the branch remains committed to the NAACP’s enduring goals of equality, justice, and civil rights for all people.

The Freedom Fund Dinner is one of the organization’s signature annual events, bringing together community leaders, supporters, and advocates to celebrate progress, honor the past, and continue the important work of building a more just and inclusive future.

How to get involved
For those looking to support an organization dedicated to advancing civil rights and uplifting underserved communities, this inspiring evening offers an opportunity to connect, learn, and reflect on the stories that have shaped our nation and continue to shape its future.
