Team Member Spotlight on Nate Kowinsky, Float Customer Service Representative

Nate Kowinsky is no stranger to Chelsea Groton Bank. His journey with the Bank began as an intern when he was still in school pursuing a degree at Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU). During his time at ECSU, he majored in Business Administration and minored in Business Information Systems (BIS). He was actively involved in the BIS Club and ETV News, where he provided photography and videography for the university’s athletic programs. He also connected with Chelsea Groton’s Talent Acquisition Specialist and discovered the Bank’s internship program.

After a positive internship experience, Nate seized the opportunity to join the Chelsea Groton team full-time following graduation. Now, as a Float Customer Service Representative, he’s excited to continue growing his career in retail banking while exploring future opportunities for professional development.

Time at Chelsea

For Nate, the most rewarding part of his role is helping people navigate their finances.

“I enjoy getting to assist people and bring value to their lives, one transaction at a time.”

His time at Chelsea Groton has helped him become more comfortable with having professional conversations about money. He’s also had the chance to network with business partners and collaborate with various departments, which has opened his eyes to other career avenues like lending and security.

Shaping the Future

Nate is passionate about continuous learning and is already thinking ahead. He hopes to eventually transition into a role focused on Business Analytics or Risk Management. His current position is giving him a strong foundation in the technical and interpersonal skills he will need to move forward in his career.

Beyond the Office

Outside of work, Nate keeps busy with a variety of hobbies. He’s passionate about photography, especially capturing cars and landscapes. While it may be a passion today, he is hoping to turn it into a side business in the future.

He also enjoys staying active, whether that’s hitting the gym, exploring new ways to stay fit, or spending time on the golf course.
