Graduating from high school, trade school, or college is a significant accomplishment and it marks an important milestone in a person’s life. Chelsea Groton is happy to celebrate everyone graduating, including seniors from 17 area high schools who were awarded scholarships by the Chelsea Groton Foundation. Each of the individuals who applied for the scholarships excelled in academia, leadership, and extracurricular activities during their high school years, and plans to pursue college degrees.
The 17 recipients of $500 scholarships are Katie Teixeira of East Lyme High School; Hailey DeNucci from the East Lyme Scholarship Association; Alejandro Rios of Ella T. Grasso Technical High School; Caleb Sieburg of Fishers Island School; Sophie Ash from the Groton Scholarship Fund; Michael Baber of Ledyard High School; Matthew Malbaurn of Montville High School; Aryanna Arias of Norwich Free Academy; Stephanie Genero of Norwich Regional Adult Education; Riley Griffin of Plainfield High School; Dylan Meyer of Robert E. Fitch High School; Payton Noe of Saint Bernard School; Martha Bellet of Stonington High School; Kayla Roy of Three Rivers Middle College Magnet High School; John Morgan of Waterford High School; Anthony Ortega of Westerly High School; and Marissa Perkins of Wheeler High School.
