Spotlight on Summer Intern Ariana Rosado

Ariana, entering her final semester at Wesleyan University this fall, is studying neuroscience and behavior. Originally from Waterford, CT, she spent her internship at Chelsea Groton’s New London branch, giving her the opportunity to build meaningful connections and become deeply involved in the local community.

Path to Chelsea
Ariana was drawn to Chelsea Groton by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and provide support that truly benefits others. She appreciates the bank’s welcoming culture and strong team dynamic, which created an environment that fosters learning and growth. Although her academic background is not finance-focused, she was eager to expand her skill set and gain experience in a new field.

Growth in Action
Throughout her internship, Ariana has seen firsthand how important relationship-building is, both in banking and in any professional setting. While her educational background is not rooted in finance, her understanding of people and interpersonal dynamics has translated seamlessly to this position, helping her connect with customers and colleagues alike.

Beyond the Office
Ariana brings her creativity to life through music, with a passion for playing the piano, writing songs, and using storytelling to connect with others. Beyond her musical talents, she is deeply involved in her community, serving as a worship leader at her church and participating in mission trips.

Looking Forward
Ariana plans to attend graduate school for mental health counseling with the goal of becoming a therapist. During her internship, she stepped outside her comfort zone by exploring the world of banking, a field that was previously unfamiliar to her, and gained confidence through the experience.
“One of the most valuable lessons I have taken away from this experience is the power of building strong relationships with customers and colleagues,” shared Ariana.
“I have also developed a deeper understanding of the connection between financial and mental well-being, seeing firsthand how financial challenges and mental health influence each other. This experience has broadened my perspective and reinforced my passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges.”
