Did you know that each pint of blood collected can help save up to three lives? That’s three families touched by your generosity. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. is in need of blood. Your donation may be used to support accident and burn victims, patients undergoing heart surgery or organ transplants, or for the treatment of cancer and sickle cell disease.
The American Red Cross supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood, and to meet daily needs, they must collect 12,500 donations every single day. While 62% of Americans are eligible to donate, only about 3% actually do. Let’s change that together!
This winter, we’re asking donors to share a piece of their hearts with patients in need. As a thank-you, the American Red Cross is sending all those who donate blood from January 26 – February 28, 2026, including Chelsea Groton’s blood drive on February 6th, a $20 e-gift card.
