Team Member Spotlight on Josh Braun, HR Intern

Josh Braun is a senior at the University of Connecticut (UConn), where he’s pursuing a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Political Science with a minor in Social Responsibility and Impact in Business. Passionate about the intersection of business and law, Josh is currently preparing to take the LSAT in the spring or summer of next year. He plans to apply to law school shortly after, with the goal of launching a career in civil law. In the meantime, he’s gaining valuable hands-on experience that will help shape his professional journey.

Time at Chelsea

Following a legal internship with Northeast Emergency Medical Specialists, Josh sought out a second internship focused on human resources. While searching on LinkedIn, he came across Chelsea Groton Bank and was drawn to the organization’s strong community involvement. He also appreciated the efficiency and professionalism of the interview process.

“The interview process at Chelsea Groton was one of the best I’ve experienced. I heard back quickly after applying, and each step—from the screening call to the video interview and the in-person meetings—was smooth, respectful, and well-organized.”

Josh quickly recognized the importance of a strong HR team in shaping company culture and supporting employee success.

“Everyone I’ve met at Chelsea Groton has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. I’ve learned so much already about how HR helps shape a company’s culture and success. It’s exciting to be part of a team that truly values people.”

Shaping the Future

Josh’s internship has been filled with meaningful learning opportunities. Weekly check-ins help ensure he’s on track to meet his goals and gain the most from his experience. One standout moment was learning about benefits administration and the importance of employees understanding and maximizing their benefits, something Josh believes is often overlooked in many workplaces.

He’s also developing valuable interpersonal and administrative skills, including communication, collaboration, and organizational processes, all of which will serve him well in his future legal career.

Beyond the Office

When he’s not working, Josh stays active and engaged. He’s a competitive golfer and a member of UConn’s golf club, traveling across the Northeast for tournaments. During the off-season, he plays on his home course every weekend. Golf has been a part of his life since he was 10, and he loves the connections he makes through the sport.

Josh also enjoys playing pickleball, working out at the gym, and spending time at the beach with friends. He’s a member of several honors societies, as well as UConn’s Finance Society and Pre-Law Society, where he connects with peers who share his academic and professional interests.

Looking Forward

Josh hopes to begin his legal career at a large firm, gaining experience and building his expertise. Eventually, he’d like to transition to a smaller firm where he can enjoy a strong community culture and a healthy work-life balance. His time at Chelsea Groton is already laying the groundwork for that future.

We’re thrilled to have Josh on the team and can’t wait to see where his journey takes him. Welcome to Chelsea Groton, Josh!
