NFA and Chelsea Groton Seek to Strengthen Future Banking Leaders

Chelsea Groton Bank recently partnered with Norwich Free Academy (NFA) to offer a unique, one-week micro-internship for six students in NFA’s Business Banking Pathway program. This initiative aimed to open students’ eyes to career opportunities they might not have considered as they prepare to enter college.

The Business Banking Pathway program at NFA is designed to provide students with hands-on experiences, community and business partnerships, college prep, and insights on industry-specific accreditations. During their week-long journey, students visited various financial institutions and connected with community members to gain a well-rounded understanding of the banking industry.

Here’s a glimpse into their week:

Throughout the week, students engaged in role-playing scenarios, conducted working labs, tackled real-world dilemmas, and discussed the importance of economic development. This immersive experience not only broadened their horizons but also equipped them with valuable skills for their future careers.

By the end of the week, participating students walked away with a deeper understanding of the banking industry and a clearer vision of their potential career paths.
