It is my goal to support bridge-building between the community and the bank to form a cohesive support network. 

A Little About Renee Simao

I joined Chelsea Groton in 2019 as Assistant Secretary/ Customer Solutions Manager leading the Bank’s Norwichtown team.  I was promoted to Assistant Treasurer before transitioning to the Human Resources team as the Talent Acquisition Specialist. One of my main objectives is to explain why Chelsea Groton is such a great place to work and find like-minded individuals that share our passion to work in a collaborative, innovative, and knowledgeable work environment.

I began my banking career back in 2007 with Newport Federal Savings Bank and Berkshire Bank.  Throughout my career I have worked in various roles in Retail Banking, Branch Administration, Learning & Development and Human Resources.

I am actively involved in our local community and volunteer my time with the Chelsea CFIT committee, Young Leaders United of SE United Way, Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals as well as Education Council, the Human Resources Leadership Association (HRLA), and Stonington High School’s Lacrosse team. I have had the honor of being named among the 2014 Southern Rhode Island’s 40 Brightest Stars, the 2021 Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce LEAD Class President and am a class member of the 2025 Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Leadership program.
