A Little About Renee Simao

Renee joined Chelsea Groton in 2019 as Assistant Secretary/Customer Solutions Manager in Norwichtown. She was promoted to Assistant Treasurer before transitioning to the role of Talent Acquisition Specialist for the human resources team. For 3 years, she helped attract and connect talented individuals with career opportunities at Chelsea Groton. In 2026, Renee moved back to the retail banking team, where she now serves as Customer Solutions Manager of the North Stonington branch. She leads a dedicated team focused on delivering an outstanding customer experience and strengthening relationships within the communities we serve. 

Renee’s banking career began in 2007 with Newport Federal Savings Bank and Savings Institute Bank & Trust. Throughout her career, she has held roles in retail banking, branch administration, learning & development, human resources, and a variety of leadership positions that have allowed her to gain a well-rounded understanding of both customer service and team development. 

Renee is passionate about community involvement and volunteers her time with Chelsea Groton’s GROW committee, Young Leaders United of SECT United Way, the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals and Education Council, the Human Resources Leadership Association (HRLA). She has also been honored as one of Southern Rhode Island’s 40 Brightest Stars, 2023-2024 United Way Volunteer of the Year award, served as President of the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce LEAD Class of 2021, and participated in the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.
