Need your coins counted? Want to make a difference in the community? Stop in to any of the Chelsea Groton branches where this service is offered!
The 3% fees normally charged for use of the coin counting machines are donated to the following organizations:
- Always Home (Mystic branch);
- Center for Hospice Care of Southeast Connecticut (Norwich-Westside branch);
- CT Humane Society (Norwichtown branch);
- The WARM Center of Westerly (Pawcatuck branch);
- and The United Way of Southeastern Connecticut’s Gemma Moran Food Center (Groton, New London, North Stonington branches).
Customers who currently do not pay a fee for this service have the option to donate the value of 3% of their coins to the receiving organizations. The branches will provide customers who choose to make a donation with a receipt as proof of the donation for tax records when coin counting is complete.
Since this program began, the Bank has been able to donate over $6,000 in fees to these area organizations.
