Chelsea Groton Fraud Prevention Resources

Cyber Crime, Password Phishing Concept. Hacker Attack, Hackers Bulgar Steal Personal Data. Internet Security

Providing customers with secure access to online banking and protection of personal financial information is a top priority of Chelsea Groton Bank. View the Bank’s fraud prevention resource page to help better identify when a scam is taking place and to learn ways to protect your information from bad actors. A few highlights:

  • Never share your User ID and Password with anyone. It’s best practice for joint account holders to have separate login IDs and passwords.
  • Use caution when opening attachments or links provided in an email. Hover your mouse over the link to confirm the destination of the URL. Do you recognize it? If not, don’t click.
  • Never send money, gift cards, or cash a check or transfer money via a wire or electronic payment system. If you are being threatened with law enforcement action, are feeling pressured by messages of urgency, or think it sounds “too good to be true”, it’s likely a scam.

Please note, Chelsea Groton Bank will never contact you to ask for your online/mobile banking User ID and Password, or Debit Card number.

When in doubt or if you feel your information may have been compromised, contact Chelsea Groton Bank’s Customer Care Center at 860-448-4200 during business hours

The Independent Community Bankers of America is also sharing tips for Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Follow these tips to help reduce your risk of online identity theft:

  • Never respond to unsolicited requests for personal information.
  • Create strong and unique passwords for each of your online accounts.
  • Enable security features such as multifactor authentication.
  • Maintain up-to-software on your devices.
  • Monitor your accounts for unusual activities.
