White Named Community Bank Hero

During the Commercial Record's annual Community Bank Heroes Reception held at the Farmington Marriott, Blunt White of Chelsea Groton Bank was honored as a Community Bank Hero. Community Bank Heroes are selected because they "make outstanding contributions to the industry and the community, giving freely of their time, energy and resources for volunteerism, community service and charity." Accepting his award, Blunt remarked, "I am honored to be recognized with this award and have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the local community."

Blunt joined Chelsea Groton Bank in 2012 and currently serves as Vice President, Commercial Lending Officer. He has 25 years of commercial lending experience in Connecticut and is active in the community serving as Chairman of Stonington's Economic Development Commission and on committees at the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut and the Rotary Club of Mystic. He and his family reside in Stonington.

According to Timothy M. Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group, the awards are presented because, "in these challenging and difficult financial times, it's admirable to see how community bankers have managed to persevere in their professional and philanthropic lives."
