Chelsea Groton Bank employees raised $2,000 for Noank Group Homes and Support Services by holding a basket raffle at a recent all employee event held at the Mystic Aquarium. Departments created a total of 25 themed gift baskets ranging from an “International Delights” basket filled with gourmet coffees and cookies from around the world, to a “Connecticut Wine Trail Tour” basket featuring local wines. The funds will be used to support the organization’s three therapeutic group homes for girls ages 14 to 18 in Noank, Mystic, and Ledyard.
Anne Wilkinson, SVP and Director of Human Resources presented the donation to the grateful organization, saying “Our loyal, hardworking employees make Chelsea Groton a wonderful place to work and give us reason to celebrate. It’s because of their caring, skilled and generous support that we are able to do all we can to improve the quality of life for people living in our community –part of our mutual philosophy.” Anne continued by saying in addition to the hundreds of thousands of dollars the bank donates to nonprofit organizations annually, bank employees contribute thousands of dollars to those in need by holding dress down days for charity, facilitating food drives, and volunteering their time and expertise as board members and coaches.
